We have had reports of cyber criminals imitating court telephone numbers (“spoofing”) and demanding that citizens pay money for fines or fees in cases involving relatives. These calls are not valid. New Mexico Courts will never call citizens to ask for payments of any kind.

Ellen received an undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Minnesota. In 2013, she graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law (formerly William Mitchell College of Law), summa cum laude. Following graduation, Ellen practiced Indian law and tribal law, representing various tribes throughout the southwest. Ellen joined DACA in January 2019.
